Regent Park School of Music and the Daniels Corporation
I received a really interesting e-mail from the President of the Daniels Corporation. It reminded me of the initiative that has benn taken to rebuild the Regent Park community. Mitchell Cohen the President was inpsired to write and donate a song for the residents of Regent Park relating the building of the “new” area. The Regent Park School of Music Children’s Choir was a part of the recording. The music now is being used to spearhead fundraising for the school. The School’s mission is to bring music education to inner city kids. The program has a waiting list of over 250 applicants. You can download the song at http://www.regentparkschoolofmusic.org/music.html for a donation of 10$ or more. All of the proceeds go to the school and are for creating more opportunites for these talented musicians of the future.
The music is so enthusiastic, give it serious consideration.

I received an e-mail today from Eileen Oliver commenting on my blog post. I have copied it here for you to see.
Lisa:
Further to your article about the Daniels President writing a song in support of the Regent Park Choir’s fundraising efforts… I heard the story and the song played on CBC Radio One’s Metro Morning this morning as I was waking up. Ms Jackie Richardson sang the song with the choir and it was really wonderful.
As a fundraiser for Community MicroSkills Development Centre (MicroSkills), my job is finding support for some of the Youth Programs we have here, and it is always inspiring to see such a dedicated corporate leader acting so generously.
What a talented guy.
Thanks for writing your article.
Maybe it will inspire others to do similarly creative acts of kindness!
Kindest regards,
